EMBIO completed a product for the fast diagnostics of bacteria, viruses, and environmental pollution

EMBIO Diagnostics, the company from ASBISc Group, a leading Value-Added Distributor, developer and supplier of IT and IoT products, solutions and services in the growing markets of Europe, Middle East and Africa, which, has finalized its breakthrough product B.EL.D., which, thanks to the use of biosensors, quickly and accurately diagnoses food safety, air and water quality and other environmental pollutants. The device can also be used for the rapid detection and diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2.

B.EL.D. has a CE certificate, which means that it complies with all EU regulations on medical devices IVD. The product is approved for use in the European Union, and is currently entering the stage of intense commercialization. EMBIO Diagnostics has already carried out the first, successfully completed, commercial implementations of this product and it is used, among others in the Charalambides Christis Diary Factory and shipping companies.

EMBIO Diagnostics diagnostic devices are easy to use and are intended for both professional (B2B) and individual (B2C) use. 

In December 2021, ASBIS concluded an agreement to acquire 20% of shares in EMBIO Diagnostics Ltd.

EMBIO Diagnostics has built from scratch the unique, portable, ultra-fast and ultra-sensitive B.EL.D. (Bio Electric Diagnostics), which is one of the few biosensor-based multi-purpose chemical analyzers. B.EL.D. within minutes, it can accurately detect bacteria, viruses, including SARS-COV-2, and harmful chemicals, whether in water, food or in the air. The B.EL.D. family of products, i.e. the main device and on-line applications available for both iOS and Android: AirBELD, EnviroBELD, CovBELD(IVD), brings a whole new quality to the traditional industry of diagnostic analysis - providing accurate, almost immediate and cheaper results. 

The product will be primarily directed to such industrial sectors as, among others, milk factories, hotels, hospitals and large office spaces and shopping malls. It will also be available to an individual customer following specific instructions.

FIRST IMPLEMENTATIONS OF THE PRODUCT 

EMBIO Diagnostics has already successfully carried out several commercial implementations of its products:

• Venice Casino - implementation of 25 AirBELD devices. Venice Casino has already placed orders for further installations in a different casino location.
• The Cyprus Department of Water uses B.EL.D. to monitor the condition of dams in Cyprus. The project will be replicated in Thessaloniki.Operation of B.EL.D on Charalambides Christis Diary Factory (an international supplier).
• B.EL.D Devices are operation in Agricultural University of Athens for Biotechnology research applications.
• B.EL.D and AirBELD has been used for monitoring on the Nicosia General Hospital for Covid testing follow ups. 

MARKET SIZE 

The size of the food safety market in the EU is currently EUR 4 billion and is growing at a rate of 7% per year, while the size of the global food safety market is now USD 14.23 billion and is growing by 7.6% per year. This creates great opportunities for EMBIO to grow and further develop cooperation with companies operating in industries such as: meat and poultry, ready-to-eat products, organic farming, etc.
